Indian-Used Rare Warner Warner Civil War Carbine

Was found and purchased from an old collector in El Paso, Texas. In .50 caliber. Wood shows much weather wear and use. Serial number 30 on all receiver parts. Brass receiver and butt plate well-patinaed, w/old, dried blood stains along left side of frame. Aged rawhide repair at tang. The number 2067 stamped in small letters on top exterior of buttplate. Only a total of 1501 Warner carbines, in .50 caliber, were produced in 1864. Additionally, 2500 carbines were later made in Feb-March, 1865, chambered for the 56-50 Spencer cartridge. Marked on l/s frame JAMES WARNER. SPRINGFIELD MASS/WARNER’S PATENT.
